The Naval Prayer......
0 eternal Lord God who alone spreadest out the heavens and rulest the raging of the sea; who hast compassed the waters with bounds until day and night come to an end; Be pleased to receive into thy Almighty and most gracious protection the persons of us thy servants and the Fleet in which we serve. Preserve us from the dangers of the sea and from the violence of the enemy that we may be a safeguard unto our gracious sovereign lady Queen Elizabeth 11 and her Dominions, and a security for such as pass on the seas upon their lawful occasions; that the inhabitants of these our islands and commonwealth may in peace and quietness serve thee our God; and that we may return in safety to enjoy the blessings of this land and with the fruits of our labours and with a thankful remembrance of thy mercies to praise and glorify your Holy name - through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen
Almighty and most merciful Father, we remember before you, to whom the unknown are yet well known, that great company who laid down their lives for their friends and whose bodies have gone down to the sea and lie buried in the great waters. Especially do we remember the gallant officers and men of H.M.S. Picotee who, sixty-eight years ago, sailed out to protect their brother seamen and gave their lives for the cause of freedom. Grant that their devotion may bear fruit in us for whom they died. We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
